10th November 2007

The 10th of November 07 saw another anniversary of Sheriffmuir pass very successfully , the whole day's comemmorations to the men who gave their lives that day on 13th November 1715 was a very moving experience this year as I was asked and had the honour of laying the wreath of rememberance on behalf of Na Fir Dileas. There were many floral tributes from a good few organisations and societies including Siol nan Gaidheal and Cranntara. The service was delivered perfectly as usual by Ken Shirrah of the Scottish Knight's Templar, and the torch lit march back to the Sheriffmuir Inn was spectacular. The gathering back at the Inn was also well received as the meal and after dinner speeches progressed into the evening's entertainment to which I had the great pleasure of sharing with the very talented Mr. Ted Christopher. The blend of the two styles ensured everyone had a great night , going by the reaction of the usual bunch of tartan clad hairy highlanders that come along to this event every year. Roll on next year for more of the same.
